If you want to go to Vietnam, don’t bother to buy any dong in US, just
bring US $, you can easily change to dong in Vietnam airport, no question
asked. Probably much better rate than in US too.

I live in Aussie and we dont have a Chase Bank so not sure whether we can
purchase from a Bank.

ON Nov 24, I bought a large quantity of VN dong at $53.80/M from a Chase
bank near me. It was a smaller branch in a Strip Center. That was based on
this Video. The first time I tried to buy at a much larger Branch, I was
pretty much laughed out of the bank. He even made the comment “no we don’t
trade that junk” We even had some stupid people coming in here looking for
IQD Dinar. A couple of the other employees started laughing as I left the
bank. Sure glad I decided to stop at the small branch and check what they
said. They were very nice and attentive toward me. They took the order
after looking it up and verifying the price. They told me it would probably
be Wed. before it would arrive. To my surprise, I received a phone call
from the bank on Tuesday. It was the branch manager and he informed me that
my dong had arrived already and I could pick it up anytime. That afternoon
I returned to the bank and did not get 10 feet into the door and the
manager came to me and said I’ll go get your dong and be right back. He
then met me at a window and counted out the dong for me.

Although they did not acknowledge that they would be exchanging the money
back, He did say he would appreciate it very much if I cared to open an
account there. He knew I only had a Chase credit card, but no checking
account. An account of either type is required to purchase/exchange for
Dong.

Another note, another major financial publisher is stating as a known FACT
that the GCR will take place in March 2015, and the dollar will tank along
with the US financial system. Although it could mean a windfall for many of
us, maybe we should be careful what we wish for. Everyone losing their bank
account, 401k’s and stocks, might not make for a happy world. It also might
not make sense to exchange currency into dollars and they may be near
worthless when the time comes. Sounds like a major catch-22 that will be
difficult to avoid. It will just depend on the amount of time we have to
exchange and reallocate the money to have a chance.

Nick, you’re killing it lately. Awesome intel here. One thing I want to put
on your radar: a couple finance industry vets I’m speaking with are
refusing to buy 500k VND notes. They’re extremely plugged in to what’s
taking place, they definitely see this as a once in a lifetime event, and
yet neither of them will touch the high denomination notes; one stating
that there just won’t be a market for them post GCR; the other stating that
new rules allow banks to discriminate liberally in FX matters come 2015. Do
you have any thoughts about this? It’s actually spooked me enough that I’m
trading 500k notes in for 50k and 100k’s instead. Anyway, keep up the great
work, and thanks.

I just purchased 2 million VND for about $135 at a local branch of TD. It
was a relatively easy transaction. There was a small fee for each million
purchased and a fee for small transaction under $250. Averaged out to $67
per million VND. All the asked for was my DL for proof of ID.

They had no information on GCRs and RVs. In fact the woman thought I was
getting the VND for travel. I am one of two people who have come in to
purchase VND and NOBODY has come in to discuss the Dinar.
